At Three Camel Lodge, the strength of our experience comes from the people who call the Gobi home. One of those individuals is Bundkhorol, whose relationship with the region and the lodge has grown naturally over many years.

A Familiar Face in the Gobi

Long before joining the lodge team, Bundkhorol was already a well-known presence in the surrounding community. Born and raised in Umnugovi province, he grew up in a herder family and spent his life caring for livestock, riding across the desert, and supporting the traditions that define life here. Guests, neighbors, and visiting partners often crossed paths with him during their travels, and many came to know him as a warm and reliable member of the local community.

His connection to the area ran deep. He served in the Citizens’ Representatives Council of Khavtsgait for a decade and represented his hometown through the Citizens’ Council for six years. These roles strengthened his ties to families, herders, and local leaders, making him a trusted voice in the region.

A Natural Link to the Lodge

As the lodge continued to grow and deepen its relationship with the community, it became clear that Bundkhorol shared the same values of hospitality, heritage, and care for the Gobi. His steady presence, his knowledge of the land, and his genuine kindness made him someone guests remembered and locals respected.

Over time, the connection between Bundkhorol and the lodge grew stronger. Visitors often remarked on his openness and his willingness to share stories and insight into nomadic life. He became an informal ambassador of the region, offering a window into the daily rhythms and traditions of the Gobi.

Joining the Team

In June 2024, this long-standing relationship became official when Bundkhorol joined the Three Camel Lodge team as a horseback rider. For him, it was a natural extension of his life as a herder and horseman. For the lodge, it was a chance to bring someone into the team who already felt like family.

Today he guides guests with the same sincerity and warmth he has shown throughout his life. His presence helps create a sense of connection to the land and the people who have called this region home for generations.

A Bridge Between Guests and the Gobi

What makes Bundkhorol special is not only his skill with horses but the way he welcomes guests into the culture of the Gobi. His background as a community leader and lifelong herder brings authenticity to every ride and every conversation.

At Three Camel Lodge, he represents the spirit of partnership that has shaped us from the start. Guests who meet him do not just learn about horseback riding. They experience the heart of the region through someone who has lived it every day.
